Power and Performance of the 2024 Toyota Mirai
The 2024 Toyota Mirai technology is evident in what's under its hood. Instead of an engine, this midsize sedan has a 650-volt hydrogen fuel-cell system for propulsion.
For 2024, Toyota opted for a lighter and smaller fuel cell model with an integrated power control unit for the Mirai. Between the rear seat and trunk is a compact, higher-capacity lithium-ion battery. The air intake has been relocated, and the gas channel separator electrodes have been optimized. The rear wheels are now receiving 182 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque.
Toyota has also ensured that the noise level from the air supercharger was properly managed. The Japanese automaker added sound-deadening materials to the air cleaner to prevent air column resonance.
